Leave [your name] here to credit yourself (￣▽￣)ノ Hey guys! What’s up? A few years ago, I made a video talking about my favourite anime However, my list has changed a lot over the years because I’ve watched a lot of other anime since then and I’ve also recalled some anime that I had watched but forgot about So I’ve decided to make an updated version of that video So now I’m going to talk about my top 5 favourite anime I’m gonna try my best not to choose the anime based on the nostalgic value I’m gonna choose them because I love them regardless of when I watched them Now before you guys say something like: What the-?! where is MY favourite anime? Why is it not on the list?! UNSUB- Please remember that this is MY top 5 favourite anime not YOUR top 5 favourite anime If your favourite anime is not included here, that doesn’t mean it’s bad it just means that you and I have different taste I know that this is common sense but I’d always get a lot of those comments whenever I talk about my personal favourite things, I dunno why Well then with that said, let’s begin! Number 5 Flying Witch This anime was recommended to me by my friend Kuze, so thank you Kuze! It’s about a young witch named Makoto who moved in to her relatives’ house as part of her training as a witch This anime shows us how Makoto spends her daily life as a witch accompanied by her relatives and new friends Flying Witch is one of the if not most relaxing anime I’ve ever watched Every episode leaves me feeling so calm and happy This show is something that can quickly reduce my level of stress because of how relaxing it is If you guys love slice of life anime, then you should definitely give this show a go Number 4 Cowboy Bebop This is a very popular series that most anime fans know about I can’t really summarise it well though since this is an episodic anime and the theme is a bit abstract But the point is it’s a story about a bounty hunter named Spike and his 4 friends who work together with him to clear their bounty hunting missions in order to get money so they can eat food I think I just butchered this legendary anime with my excellent summarizing skill Anyway, I’m sure you guys have watched this series already so I don’t think I need to tell you much about it What I like about this anime aside from the story is the unlikely friendship between the 4 main characters I mean 2 bounty hunters, a con artist, a genius kid hacker, and a genetically-engineered dog They surely make a weird team, don’t’ they? It’s not just with Cowboy Bebop, though Many anime feature this unlikely friendship trope as well for example Samurai Champloo, Hunter X Hunter Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha, Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin, Durarara, and many more This just shows that you don’t need to be similar to others to become good friends which I know is true because it is something I’ve experienced in real life Number 3 Shirokuma Cafe / Polar Bear Cafe The list kinda turns weird all of the sudden Anyway, this anime is about a panda who likes to chill at a polar bear café near his house together with his friend penguin They’re sometimes joined by their other friends Llama, sloth, grizzly, and many more Panda also works as a part-time panda at the zoo because his mom doesn’t like seeing him lazing around in the house all day I know the summary sounds weird and all and some of you are probably thinking: “What the heck have you been smoking, Raf?” but it’s just how this anime is It’s weird and unsummarizable but I really love it because it’s a very funny anime that probably caused my neighbours to hate me because I might’ve woken them up with my loud cackling while watching this anime in the middle of the night Anyway, it also has a lot of touching moments that made me bawl my eyes out It’s a funny, light-hearted and relaxing anime for all ages and I highly recommend it Number 2 Cardcaptor Sakura I think it’s safe to say that this anime will remain in my top list for years to come It’s about a girl named Sakura who becomes a cardcaptor after accidentally releasing the clow cards from the magical book containing them Throughout her journey, she’s accompanied by the guardian of the clow cards, Keroberos also known as Kero-chan, her filthy rich and perfect best friend Tomoyo, and her cute rival and eventual love-interest, Syaoran This series was one of the first anime I watched and what made me start cosplaying I can never get sick of it even after rewatching it for so many times because I just love it so much The soundtrack is amazing, the costumes are beautiful, the artstyle is cute, and I love everything about it! And finally, number 1 is Natsume Yuujinchou Natsume Yuujinchou is basically everything I love combined and put into one anime It’s relaxing, funny, sad, touching, and also mystical It’s about a boy named Natsume Takashi who has the ability to see spirits or ghosts He had a grandmother named Reiko, who was able to see spirits as well During Reiko’s teenage years, she challenged a lot of ghosts and defeated all of them and she collected their names in a book as her prize for winning That book is known as the book of names Natsume Takashi inherited this book of names later on which causes him to get chased by ghosts who mistake him as his grandmother and want to get their hands on the book Natsume then meets and sort of befriends a great yokai called Madara who takes a form of a beckoning cat When you first hear of this anime, you might be thinking: “Pssh what’s so great about it? The plot sounds so average. It’s so overhyped!” Well, I can only say that this anime has gotten 6 seasons for a reason and you have to watch it yourself to understand what’s so great about it For me, just by watching the first episode was enough to get me hooked I think I cried in almost every episode because the story is very touching Or maybe I’m just a sentimental crybaby, I dunno Oh and also, Natsume shares the same voice actor as Akashi Seijuuro from Kuroko no Basuke That’s definitely a plus for me So those were my top 5 favourite anime, I hope you guys enjoyed watching it I kind enjoy slow-paced and relaxing anime more as I grow older Maybe it’s because I find them to be therapeutic Anyway, this list will probably change in the future because there’s a possibility that I’ll discover even greater anime as I watch more of them When that time comes, I’ll just make a new video about it Anway, feel free to tell me some of your favourite anime in the comments below I’d love to read all about them!
